Neck pain
Emmanuel Coradi October 27, 2024
Neck pain is a widespread problem in the adult population. This is not surprising, as the neck (cervical spine) is a complex and sensitive structure that is constantly exposed to high levels of stress. The head, which is supported by the cervical spine, is comparatively heavy and must be able to move freely. With increasing age, the bones, joints and connective tissue structures in the area of the cervical spine are subject to processes of wear and degradation. The processes described are also referred to as “degenerative” and can be accompanied by chronic pain.

This back pain is often accompanied by radiation to the legs. This condition is commonly known as “persistent spinal pain syndrome” or PSPS (formerly also “Failed Back Surgery Syndrome”, FBSS).
